When listing restaurants in Tulum, we take some criteria in consideration. Chef experience, ingredients, flavors and longevity. Celti fits all of that criteria and some, with Chef Claudia continously delivering great food, a great atmosphere and creative dishes that use local ingredients.

Celti is off the beaten track but on track with their flavors

Claudia, the owner and chef of this Tulum restaurant, has been creating fusion mexican dishes since her arrival in Tulum from Mexico City over 8 year ago. She is creative, energetic, endearing and enthusiatic, and her food reflects her all of these great qualities.

Claudia came to Tulum after finishing her chef certification in Mexico City on a mission to experiment with local ingredients, local recipes and blend these with her Central Mexican background. She has successfully done this in her development of Celti and continues to ‘wow’ people with her culinary experience.

Claudia has the determination of Frida Kahlo and the beauty of Sofia Vergara. She continues to find new flavors and recipes to delight her guests. HerTortilla sout is a favorite and sensitive to vegetarians, unlike other Mexican tortillas soups. Her chicken with plantains, stuffed chiles or fish of the day are all wonderful dishes that reflect her love of all things Mexican. Desserts are wonderful blends of sweet and savory and everyone appreciates her complimentary appetizer of cheeses, fruits and empanadas.

Guest reviews of Celti Restaurant

“We thought this place was really special. The owner is clearly passionate about keeping up traditions in Mayan cooking and her passion really came across. Try the tortilla soup. Share a plate between two as a starter (as very big and filling) but one of the best soups that we have ever tasted. Exquisite attention to detail, both in the presentation of the food and the decor, which was really beautifully done.”

“Probably the best secret of the small town of Tulum. I’m not a fan of the Mexican food. This restaurant made me changed my mind. I had the best mole ever.”

“A REAL experience in an unreal world. AMAZING food. Something so rare and almost magical about the atmosphere in this place. The woman is an artist”

Celti is located in the town of Tulum in a small house off the main highway. She is a neighbourhood girl that believes strongly in community, and she is right in the heart of it all.
