This may not seem like such a treat, but very few yoga studios in the Mayan Riviera have yoga classes on Sundays. Many yoga studios in the area are owned by the teachers themselves, so a day off is necessary. Some are Mexican yoga teachers so Sunday is family day, others are European teachers who take Sundays as their day of rest.
Tulum yoga studios are a bit different, with many teachers working out of one yoga studio. This means YOGA ON SUNDAYS as there is plenty of time for days off without a disruption in your yoga practice. When on vacation, every day is Sunday, and Tulum yoga teachers teach every day. There is also a great demand for yoga classes in Tulum so classes are throughout the day, and in some cases a few times a day, with different teachers hosting each class.
Having different yoga teachers can deepen your yoga practice
Many of us get attached to our teachers, whether it be a language teacher, scuba instructor or yoga teacher. As a student, we seek out a teacher that speaks to us, a person who we can build a relationship with and who understands who we are. When you build multiple relationships with many yoga teachers, your yoga practice will deepen as each teacher will find different areas in your practice that you both can connect with. Changing or trying new teachers can be a big stretch for some yogini’s but we encourage the development of multiple relationships with many yoga teachers.
