OH! Food Workshop is a result of a late dinner on the shores of the Caribbean where a 2 chefs and a sustainability developer decided to develop a workshop that would share their knowledge and passion about alternative lifestyles. Hartwood Restaurant Celti Restaurant and Casa de las Olas have built businesses in Tulum that resonate with their core beliefs on sustainability, busineses that support the environment, local culture, economies and people. Hartwood Restaurant brings their core beliefs about sustainability to the table, Celti Restaurant brings a cultural perspective to the table and Casa de las Olas brings their sustainable lifestyle experiences to guests in a local workshop that highlights sustainable cooking practices with sustainable living and development practices.

Merging two sustainability systems into one event

Hartwood Restaurant is a farm to chef restaurant that is 100% solar, buys locally and chooses to make all meals by hand without the use of any electrical appliances. Farm to chef cooking is back to basics and showcases slow roasting and open fire cooking.

Celti Restaurant is a cultural restaurant that used historical Mexican recipes in a modern kitchen, merging unique local flavors with contemporary cooking practices.

Casa de las Olas provides sustainable development accommodations on the beach in Tulum, Mexico that are 100% solar, use passive cooling systems, grey water for indigenous plants maintenance and a composting station for Hartwood’s organic materials.

OH! Food  Workshop combines sustainable cooking options with sustainable development practices into a sustainable lifestyle workshop that proves sustainability does not compromise taste, luxury, decadence or beliefs. You can have it all and feel good about it.

It was a fantastic experience.  I loved it. Eric is extremely generous of himself. I’m a fan.  He shares a lot about his cooking techniques.  He brings you inside his kitchen.  I learned a lot about Mayan food and of course about Mezcal and Posh.  The highlight (Tuesday banquet) was amazing.

This is an intimate affair that includes Tulum beachfront accommodations, cooking classes,  a welcome evening, and a dinner party to celebrate the week on the shores of the Caribbean. To top it off, local sommelier and wine distributor Ricardo Garcia Gaxiola will host a wine and tequila pairing at the final dinner. Learn more cultural aspects of Mexico through local wines and tequilas. Lunch or dinner is served at each cooking class providing participants with a cultural and unique food experience.
